Monday's Thoughts

When is the best time to take action?

implement speed of implementation

"Speed of implementation is the commonality between the most successful people. They transfer their ideas to actions as quickly as possible." (Eben Pagan)

In a recent Monday’s Thoughts, I focused on how crucial it is to implement worthwhile ideas, and how not implementing them makes having them or learning them...well...worthless.

I do not mean to sound harsh, but if I'm being honest, there are a lot of people with brilliant ideas who never let those ideas see the light of day! So, unfortunately, the potentially amazing revelations with potentially amazing results remain sadly unrevealed and unreceived.

That is why I want to continue to encourage you to implement your ideas - whether they are your original ones or learned from others - and today focus on the speed of implementation. This factor plays a key role in the success of your ideas.

When you first get inspired with a new idea, practice or habit, you are typically excited and you start pumping out adrenaline. But, we all know that waiting too long to get started often leads to never getting started. Your adrenaline diminishes, and so does your energy, your passion and your motivation.

So...maximize your chance of success and use that initial boost of energy and motivation...to get started, get moving, and get momentum! Here's what I mean:

Ready. Identify what it is that you are implementing. Discern exactly what it is that you are ready, willing and able to do at this point in time to help you get WHAT you want and become WHO it is you are working on becoming!

Set. Identify your action steps. Lay out the actions that are required to get started. Don't overthink this. Now...

Go! Those first steps can be the scariest, so blow through them by tapping into your initial burst of adrenaline! Get those wheels in motion!

Make sure you give yourself some attainable goals right out of the gate to keep boosting your drive. Follow through and stay consistent in your actions. You may not see results immediately. Do not let that affect your effort! Remember, worthwhile things take time to build and grow! And, don't forget to give yourself some accountability!

Eben Pagan followed his quote above with the following statement. “The difference in your life is going to be made by the actions that you take.”

I wholeheartedly agree, and leave you with these important questions to answer:

  • What kind of difference do you want to have in your life?
  • What do you want to implement NOW?
  • What actions do you need to take today? This week?
  • Are these actions blocked out on your schedule today? This week?
  • Is someone holding you accountable for completing them?

Don't miss out!
